If your student thinks he or she will be moving off-campus in the future, the Spring Off-Campus Living Fair is the place to go! Off-Campus Student Services will host the Living Fair on Wednesday, March 6 from 10:30 AM – 1:30 PM in the Arkansas Union Connections Lounge.
The Fair will have properties and apartment complexes that have partnered with OCSS as well as other resources that will be useful for students who live off campus, such as the City of Fayetteville, Parking & Transit and more. These resources can be incredibly beneficial for students who live off campus and provide them with information they need to succeed. Students will also have the opportunity to enter a drawing to win a variety of prizes. Previous prizes included Apple Watches, Smart TVs, Yeti coolers, gift cards, and more!
If your student isn’t able to attend the Off-Campus Living Fair, they can always explore housing options at offcampushousing.uark.edu, the official off-campus housing website for the University. Through the website, students can filter through housing options, look for roommates or post on the discussion boards. Parents can also create a login to look through the housing options, but we would encourage parents to help their students by giving them the tools to succeed instead of doing it for them.
Moving off campus can create a greater sense of independence and responsibility but can be stressful as well. OCSS provides a variety of resources on their website about leasing, landlord/tenant laws, how to be a good neighbor, and more. An Off-Campus Living Guidecan also be accessed online.
The Off-Campus Living Fair is a great opportunity to find the perfect place to live next year. For questions or more information about Off-Campus Student Services, please email iliveoff@uark.eduor call 479-575-7351.
