OLLI has offered hikes for years, often featuring dramatic vistas of places far afield. But there are many trails closer to home providing opportunities to clear the mind and refresh the spirit with winter and spring air. Join OLLI on early Spring Mondays to explore nearby scenic sites and their trails. All hikes are moderate in effort and require no special equipment, just a sturdy pair of walking shoes.
Lake Lincoln: ~ 5 miles, moderate terrain, 100 feet of elevation gain. A regional favorite among local rock climbers and mountain bikers, Lake Lincoln is also a haunt of migrating birds and is periodically visited by fishing eagles. Hikers will experience up close the bluffs used by the climbers and circle the lake through winter fields.
Participants will meet at Sam’s Club near the car wash at 8:30 a.m. each Monday morning. Bring brown bag lunch, water, bug spray, hat, and sun glasses.
