David Jameson Lecture — “”What’s Next?””

February 3, 2014 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

David Jameson will present a lecture titled “What’s Next?” at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 3 in Ken and Linda Sue Shollmier Hall, Room 250 of Vol Walker Hall, on the University of Arkansas campus in Fayetteville, as part of the Fay Jones School of Architecture lecture series.

Jameson, FAIA, founded his architectural studio in 2001 upon a rigorous commitment to design excellence. The studio’s work has been recognized nationally and internationally, with more than 175 design awards. It also has been featured in more than 200 design publications including Architectural Record, Abitare, Architecture, Architectural Digest and Architectural Review. London-based Wallpaper magazine recognized the firm in 2011 as one of four emerging U.S.-based firms to follow in its Fabulous 40 issue, and Architectural Digest named Jameson as the youngest member of their AD100 roster, a listing of the top 100 architects and designer’s worldwide. In 2012, The Wall Street Journal included the studio in its folio of the 10 best residential architects in the United States.

Current residential projects are located in and around Washington, D.C., San Francisco, Martha’s Vineyard, Mass., and Hanoi, Vietnam. The studio is working on a 300-unit mixed-use project at the historic McMillan Reservoir water treatment facility in Washington and a winery at the Virginia-North Carolina border.

In academia, Jameson has been an adjunct faculty member at both Catholic University and his alma mater, Virginia Tech. He has been a guest critic at Yale University, Columbia University, the University of Texas, Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Virginia. He was also the design advisor to Virginia Tech’s 2010 Solar Decathlon Prototype House, which placed first in the Solar Decathlon Europe and was awarded a 2012 national Honor Award from the American Institute of Architects.

This is the Lewis Architects Engineers Lecture.

The public is invited to attend.
