HELPING LIKE A HOG WEEK

University of Arkansas students, faculty/staff, alumni and friends will honor the University of Arkansas through community service and random acts of kindness during Hogs Care Week, Feb. 25 through March 2.

The inaugural Hogs Care Week is presented by the Young Alumni Board of the Arkansas Alumni Association, University of Arkansas Division of Student Affairs and the Razorback Athletics Department.

“The purpose of Hogs Care Week is to honor the University of Arkansas through service and acts of kindness,” said Heath Bowman, associate director for regional programs at the Arkansas Alumni Association. “Our hope is that, through expressing appreciation and support for the University of Arkansas in this unique way, we will help to foster the culture of giving and service that exists innately within all members of our U of A family.”

“The Volunteer Action Center is honored to be a sponsor of Hogs Care Week and is looking forward to seeing the creative ways students and alumni will engage in random acts of kindness,” Emily Finch, president of the VAC, which is part of the U of A Division of Student Affairs.

“Anyone can participate in Hogs Care Week – students, alumni, and friends – no matter where you live,” Bowman said. “You can join in by serving your community or by committing a random act of kindness like buying someone a cup of coffee on a cold day. When you participate in Hogs Care Week, we encourage you to help spread the word and inspire others by sharing your Hogs Care Weekstory via social media.”
