This interactive class with Detective John Brooks will examine a case in which police were called to a death investigation. Many times in police work the call ends up being something entirely different as in this case. This particular one took many twists and turns and spanned three days before investigators had an answer to the cause and manner of death of this south Fayetteville resident. Taking the class with OLLI will give participants first-hand knowledge of crime scene investigations within the Fayetteville Police Department emphasizing that tunnel vision in law enforcement is not acceptable and does not take the place of a thorough investigation. With this class we will gain an understanding of the complexity of a Crime Scene Investigation in regards to homicide investigations, illustrating the importance of physical evidence focusing on how evidence was collected in this case and how cooperation and participation with other investigative services helped solve it.
