Alpha Epsilon Delta Premedical Honor Society Spring Banquet

February 13, 2014 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

The AED Spring Banquet will be held on Thursday, February 13th at 6:00 pm in the Janelle Y. Hembree Alumni House.
The event will be co-hosted with the Nontraditional Premed Student Organization. Dinner will be provided, funded by the Associated Student Government. The dress code is dress casual, meaning the men should wear slacks and a dress shirt (suit and tie are also acceptable), and women can wear dresses, skirts, slacks, etc.

You do NOT have to be a member of Alpha Epsilon Delta in order to attend. However, due to limited seating, we will be distributing FREE tickets to the event in front of the Union Food Court.

If you are a new applicant to AED, you are expected to attend the banquet. You do not need a ticket.

However, if you want to bring a guest, there will be a limited number of tickets available. These tickets must be picked up in advance (please see instructions below for the times and dates to pick up tickets). Tickets are only available on a first-come, first-serve basis. All current AED members, Nontraditional Premed Student Organization members, and nonmembers will need to come pick up a ticket, so we know how many people to expect. We will be distributing tickets at the tables in front of the Union Food Court at the following times:

Monday, February 3rd from 12:00pm-1:00pm
Tuesday, February 2nd, from 12:00pm-1:00pm
Thursday, February 6th, from 12:00pm-1:00pm

Again, just as a reminder, new members who are approved as initiates are required to attend the Spring Banquet.

The Honorary guest speaker for the evening is Dr. Charles W. Smith, M.D. Dr. Smith is a board certified family physician and the executive associate dean for clinical affairs at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, as well as a professor in the Department of Family and Preventative Medicine. He has served as a national leader on family medicine and has authored numerous medical articles and is currently Editor in Chief of the Journal of Participatory Medicine. Dr. Smith received both his medical degree and residency training from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC.
